1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Brevé (“Brevé”, “we”, “us”) about the Brevé app and mybreve.com. By downloading or using Brevé, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Brevé.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
2. Who can use Brevé
You must be at least 16 years old to use Brevé. Brevé is currently offered in Canada.
3. Not medical care
Brevé offers guided audio, breathing exercises, check-ins and journaling based on published research. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any medical or mental health condition, and it doesn't replace care from a doctor, psychologist or other qualified professional. If you're struggling, contact your healthcare provider.
Listen to your body. Stop any exercise that makes you feel dizzy, faint or unwell. If you're pregnant, or have a heart, lung or seizure condition, check with your healthcare provider before trying breathing exercises. Don't use Brevé while driving or doing anything that needs your full attention.
Articles in Notes are for general information. We review them for accuracy, but research changes and they may not apply to your situation.
4. Your device
Brevé doesn't use accounts. Your entries are on your iPhone and, if you turn on sync, in your iCloud, so keep your iPhone and Apple Account secure. You can also lock the Journal with Face ID or your passcode in Settings.
5. Subscriptions and payment
- Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple Account. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown before you buy.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Free trials. If you don't cancel before a free trial ends, the paid subscription starts.
- Refunds. Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. We'll give you notice before a price increase takes effect, and Apple will ask for your consent where required. You can cancel before it applies.
6. What you write is yours
You own your check-ins and journal entries. We use them only to provide Brevé to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim any rights to publish, share or sell them.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Brevé without owing you anything. We won't identify you without asking.
7. What's ours
The app, its audio, scripts, music, artwork, articles, the Brevé name and logo belong to us or the people who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Brevé on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and Apple's Usage Rules.
8. Using Brevé fairly
Please don't:
- Copy, record, share or resell Brevé's sessions or content.
- Reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
- Get around subscription checks or security features.
- Use Brevé to break the law or to harm anyone.
- Use Brevé's content to train AI models or build a competing product.
9. Changes
We keep improving Brevé, so features and content may change. If we remove something central to a subscription you've paid for, we'll tell you in advance.
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, explain what's changing, and you can stop using Brevé and cancel before then.
10. Ending use
You can stop using Brevé at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why, unless the law prevents it. If we ever shut Brevé down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your entries.
11. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep Brevé reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or produce any particular result for your wellbeing.
To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for Brevé in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act and Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Some of the limits above may not apply to you.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first at support@mybreve.com. Most problems can be fixed quickly.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live in another province, you also keep the protection of your own province's consumer laws, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
13. About Apple
These terms are between you and Brevé, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app, its content, or support and maintenance. If the app doesn't meet an applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and it will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims; we are. You confirm you're not in a country subject to a Canadian or US government embargo and aren't on a restricted-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them.
15. The fine print
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We can transfer them if Brevé is sold or merged, and your rights stay the same.
